First Christmas Part 1

Logan had a really great Christmas! He is so blessed to have such a loving family. We had 8...yes that's right...8 Christmas celebrations this year! Here are a few pics from some of all of our Christmas festivities.

I love to dress Logan up and take pictures of him!!

5 months old

Age: Five months
Weight: 17.4 lbs
Height: ?
Head: ?
Eye Color: Still blue with a slightly hazelish ring around the center that is leaking into his eyes.  Mostly they are blue though.
Hair: His hair is long on the top and sides and has stayed shorter on the bottom like a mop top. It is brown and feather soft.
Clothes: He is wearing 6 months in most clothes.
Diapers: He is in size 3 diapers.
Milestones: He finally rolled over from his back to his tummy on December 4th!  I was so proud of him. He held his bottle for the first and only time early this month also.
Sleeping: He has started sleeping on his side. It's so weird for me to see him sleeping like this because he looks like a little person instead of a baby. He's growing up so fast! He has been patchy with his sleeping. He will either sleep 8 to 10 hours or he will wake up every few hours. He can be counted on to nap for at least an hour or maybe two sometime between 2 and 4pm. This is the first time I have had a pretty good idea of when he will need a nap. I'm sure it will change though!
Eating: He is still exclusively on breast milk. This is the last month though because I plan on starting him on baby food next month along with continuing to breast feed. I'm hoping that he will get more consistent with his sleeping through the night with a baby food in his belly.
Activities: Logan has started to bounce in his jumparoo. He seems to really like it and will be content jumping and watching the lights and playing with the knobs and buttons for 30 min to an hour. He can roll over from his back to his tummy, but has a hard time getting from his tummy over to his back. He gets frustrated when he rolls over to his tummy in his crib and will put his forehead down and fuss. He still likes his swing and his mamaroo...especially if I put him in front of a cartoon or in the kitchen with me while I cook. It is helpful to be able to do this from time to time so I can get some cleaning or cooking done. He will reach up and grab everything in front of him and immediately it goes into his mouth. He has started chewing on EVERYTHING. He really likes bath time & usually gets a bath every other night. He is getting a lot of new fun toys for Christmas from the family & I can't wait to let him start playing with them! We are working on his balance and he can sit up as long as he is leaning up against something. He likes to be propped up in a sitting position against the boppy pillow. He also likes to watch his cousin Barrett run around and play with toys. You can tell that the boys really love each other...they are sure to be best friends!

4 months old

Age: Four months
Weight: 16 lbs 6.4 oz (62%)
Height: 25" (30%)
Head: 42 1/2 cm (67%)
Eye Color: Still blue with a slightly hazelish ring around the center.  Mostly they are blue though.
Hair: His hair is getting long on the top and has stayed shorter on the bottom like a mop top.  It's almost able to be a "comb-over".  I think it's precious though.
Clothes: He is wearing 3-6 months in most clothes. 6 month clothes are a little long on him & the 3 month clothes are mostly a little snug.
Diapers: He is in size 3 diapers.
Sleeping: He had a bit of a sleep regression this month. He started waking up right at 1 hour after he goes to bed almost every night. Sometimes its enough to give him his paci and his tiny snuggie blanky and he will go right back to sleep. Sometimes I will have to rock him back to sleep, and occasionally I will nurse him back to sleep if he is really worked up. We have tried different techniques, but unfortunately there is no magic solution that works every time. Once he gets back to sleep he will usually sleep at least 5 to 6 hours in a row.  He occasionally will sleep 8 to 10 hours, but this is not the norm like it used to be. Hopefully this is all because he has been growing like crazy this month!
Eating: I have still been exclusively breast feeding him and loving it! He still prefers to nurse over drinking pumped milk out of bottles & sometimes will go all morning at Aunty Ki Ki's drinking only 2 or 3 ounces. Then he will want to nurse every couple hours when I pick him up.
Milestones & Daily Things: He is still a really happy baby who is quick to smile. He will look up and smile when you say his name. He has really started to track the sound of peoples voices and his focus on things has improved. He gives mommy and daddy HUGE smiles when he hears our voices. He can now hold his paci in his mouth for longer than a few seconds. He will really let loose and giggle now.  It is pretty easy to make him laugh with a funny face or noise. I still love to let him take at least one nap a day in my arms...usually after I get home from work I'll feed him and let him sleep in my arms for 30 min to an hour.  I think I enjoy this cuddle time as much as he does. He can now push his head up with his hands while he's on his tummy.  He can't hold this "crawling" pose for very long though. He is trying SO hard to roll over but hasn't quite got there yet. He gets mad and will go side to side.  He also really loves playing on his play gym.  He bats at all the things hanging down and grabs on to them.  He will pull the monkey off and start chewing on him. He is VERY ticklish. You can get huge smiles and laughs with a little tickle under his chin.  He is actually ticklish all over & has been since he was born but his laughing makes it so much sweeter. My favorite new thing he does is coo and "talk".  He was pretty much silent other than laughing and crying until now...but now he will coo and ahh and make the sweetest "talking" noises.  It melts my heart. He started this just after he passed three months old.

First taste of rice cereal

Logan had his first taste of food last night on January 6, 2014. He was 5 1/2 months old. We gave him a teaspoon of organic brown rice cereal mixed with 4 to 5 teaspoons of breast milk.  He seemed to really like it!

3 Months Old

So, if you can't tell, I've been a little behind on blogging.  Ever since I started back to work I have not had or made the time to update the blog.  My family has been telling me over and over I need to catch up so here is attempt number 1.

Logan turned three months & I started back to work part-time.  He goes to my sister Kiley's house every day from about 7:30am until about 12:30pm.  I absolutely hate being away from him, but it is a huge comfort knowing he is being cared for and loved by his Aunty Ki Ki.  It is also really good bonding time for Logan and his cousin Barrett. Below are his three month stats and info.

Age: Three months
Weight: 15.4 lbs
Height: ?
Head: ?
Eye Color: Still blue with a light blue ring around the center.
Hair: He still has most of the dark brownish beautiful hair he was born with. He hasn't lost any of it, but the top is getting longer and will finally lay down.
Clothes: He is still wearing 3 months in most clothes, but some of his 6 month clothes fit him.
Diapers: He is in size 2 diapers.
Milestones: He has just starting grabbing onto the birds and the wheel that hang from his play gym with both hands. He smiles all the time and has a cute half silent, half barking laugh. It's adorable.
Sleeping: He still has been a pretty good sleeper. He usually sleeps for an average of 8 to10 hours at night. Occasionally he will sleep for as many as 11 hours and every now and then he will only sleep 5 hours. I'd say that his 8 hour sleeps are the most common which means I usually only have to get up once in the early morning to feed him.
Eating: I have still been exclusively breast feeding him and it is still going really great! However, he definitely prefers to nurse over drinking pumped milk out of bottles. He has given his Aunty Ki Ki a hard time eating out of a bottle while she keeps him.
Activities: We have continued to read to him. I usually read to him after his bath in the evenings. He's getting much better at tummy time. Jacob has continued doing baby massage and stretching with him.
Favorite Things: Logan's favorite thing is nursing and being talked to by mommy. He also loves to nap in my arms so I will usually let him do this about once a day.
Daily Things: Logan continues to smile a lot. He is really a happy baby. I have so many pictures of him sitting in his recliner and smiling at me. He still plays with his own hair, but he has started to play with my hair more.  He had his first round of sickness this month with sinus issues. We have battled mucus and having him sleep elevated in his stroller several nights.  I know it won't be the last time, but it was not fun at all hearing him struggle to breathe.

Newborn Pictures

I've had these pictures for quite a while but I never put them on my blog! Hope you all enjoy them...I'm absolutely in love with them!
